Take care of your watch during the day!

Unlike many mechanical tools, your watch works 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. To keep the watch accurate, its components must be lubricated and clean. The quality of the oil, in turn, can weaken the sensitivity and accuracy of the watch. Therefore, for example, as VMF Watch Factory, we recommend that the details of the watch be lubricated once every 4-5 years by the Certified Watch Service and that the watch be inspected. In order for the watch to work for a long time with quality standards, the watch needs regular maintenance.

So, what are the rules for maintaining the clock during the day? Note that it is advisable to follow these rules to provide you with the functions reflected in your watch in a timely and error-free manner.

Let's get acquainted with the simple rules of care that we can do for our watch during the day:

MORNING:
COSMETICS AND CHEMICALS
In the morning, protect your watch from perfume, cosmetic products such as, chemicals detergents and so on. Contact with cosmetics and chemicals can reduce the water resistance of your watch and damage the watch's overall mechanism.

RESERVE TIME ENERGY
For optimal accuracy, set your watch before its spare power runs out. Do not shake the self-set clock vigorously, as this harsh movement can damage the mechanism of your watch. Manual Mechanical Clocks are recommended to be installed during the day. However, in this case it is necessary to stop when the set button is approaching the end - otherwise the clock mechanism may be damaged. It is usually enough to turn the set button 20 times.

CLOCK CLEANING
Metal and rubber bracelets, watches with case can be cleaned with a soft toothbrush. It is recommended to use a little soapy water and then dry with a soft cotton cloth. After contact with sea water, be sure to rinse your watch with clean water.

AFTERNOON (DURING THE DAY):
BATTERY
Life expectancy is usually between 2-5 years. It depends on the type of watch and the number of functions. Using the EOL (End Of Life) function on the battery, the second hand starts to show an error every 4 seconds, which means that the battery is about to die. To protect your watch and use it for a long time, it is recommended that you replace the battery with a Certified Service. It should be noted that even if the famous Swiss watch brand TISSOT provides an international warranty on watches, if the watch is opened by a Certified Service and there are problems with the mechanism, the Company considers it a violation of the warranty.

EXTERNAL EFFECTS
If your watch is damaged by severe impact (shock, pressure, etc.), it must be repaired by a certified watchmaker. Also protect your watch from temperatures above 60°C and below 0°C. Sudden temperature changes are not recommended (do not enter cold water (diving, etc.) immediately after heating with solar energy).

WATER MEASURES
If your watch has chronograph buttons, do not use it while in the water. Although your watch is waterproof (5 and 10 bar water resistant), using these buttons while in the water can damage the mechanism. Only special watches can be used under the water. If your watch has a leather strap, avoid contact with water and sweat to prevent the strap from aging quickly.

EVENING :
STRUCTURE OF HISTORY
Do not set your date from 22:00 to 02:00. Because during this hour, the date automatically changes to tomorrow. Your manual intervention increases the risk of damage to the watch mechanism and back or forth from the calendar.

MAGNET
Because many components of the watch are made of metal, a magnetic watch can temporarily disrupt or stop moving. Therefore, it is recommended not to put your watch on electronic devices, as well as to keep it as far away from the effects of magnets as possible (refrigerator door, loudspeaker equipment, women's handbag lock button, etc.).

CLOCK INSPECTION INTERVAL
It should be noted that the waterproofness of the watch is not constant. This decreases over time depending on external influences. It is recommended to check the watch once a year after the end of the warranty period (especially after voyages). The waterproofness of the watch can be restored during the inspection carried out at the Certified Service Center.
