A Brief History of VMF

VMF company, a pioneer in Azerbaijan’s watch market since 1997, has built a foundation to popularize world-famous Swiss and Japanese watch brands, ensuring their popularity in our country, and to create the culture of a top quality watch brand.

Over 20 years ago, VMF offered its customers watches of latest fashion and enriched with technology innovations alongside the world market.

The establishment of VMF is due to the far-sightedness shown by Vahid Mustafayev, the founder of the ANS Group of Companies. Mustafayev, who is always on the hunt for innovations and novelties, decided to put together the two world-famous watch brands, laying the foundation of the watch culture. Despite facing considerable difficulties in shifting from a few cheap watch brands sold only in the FSU-space to more expensive and lesser-known watches in Azerbaijan, he created a company called VMF in 1997 and started to realize his ideas as head of the company.

Thus, VMF was launched in the watch and accessories sector for the first time ever in Azerbaijan.

Longines, owned by the world famous Swatch Group, was the first watch brand VMF began to sell in Azerbaijan. The same year, he opened Longines boutique, the first point of sales, being open up to the present time.

In 2004, VMF officially launched first Swatch and Tissot boutiques. Today, the boutiques and kiosks of these brands are successfully operating at several points in the capital city of Baku.

VMF also expanded its business relations with the world-renowned companies, such as Ulysse Nardin, Raymond Weil, Maurice Lacroix, Versace, Versus, Ferragamo, and Swiss that are not  supplied by the Swatch Group.

In 2001, it presented  Raymond Weil with Azerbaijani buyers, in 2004, Versace watches and jewelry items, and from 2005, Maurice Lacroix.

In addition to the Swiss brands, VMF also represents famous Japanese watch brands. Casio was the first watch brand presented in 2005, while Seiko and Pulsar in 2010, Lorus in 2015, and legendary Citizen in 2017 by VMF. Thus, VMF became an official representative of three world-renowned Japanese brands. In mid-2017, G-Shock boutique was launched.

VMF is not only a watch brand representative; it has expanded its business ties with famous Swiss Caran d'Ache producing colour pencils, inks and pens, Wenger and Viktorinox producing blades, and American Zippo producing pocket lighters.

VMF's key elements include professionalism and excellent services, high-quality products and international warranty, and latest retail outlets. Distinguished from other companies by these qualities, they provide an example of successful development. VMF offers its products to watch fans not only in Baku, but also in the largest cities across Azerbaijan through more than 15 well-designed and comfortable points of sale, manned by highly-qualified professionals teams. Today, VMF brings together world-famous brands not only in boutiques or salons, but also in dozens of dealer networks, by offering guarantee for all its products and providing services to its buyers thorough service centers located in Baku’s several divisions.

VMF, ever-growing and expanding since 1997, has designed its own First Watch branded VMF, based on high technology and scientific research.

While designing the new brand, Vahid Mustafayev decided to call it VMF that can sound easily and smoothly in a language as a perfect catchy name, and look amazing on the watch, dedicating it to those who take their first step towards success.

"VMF has been representing the world's leading watch family in Azerbaijan for more than 20 years. Over the years, we have been though hundreds of watchmaking workshops and acquainted with watches of various styles, as well as with the complexity and prices, but have never come across a watch we would like to wear. We wanted to wear a watch that could always suit our needs, business, and lifestyle in order to achieve success! And finally, we did create this watch," Mustafayev said.
